Canberra and the National Arboretum have been given glowing reviews by the British press, with Chief Minister Katy Gallagher featured.
While some papers praised the Prime Minister's speech or what the Duchess of Cambridge was wearing, others were taken with the Canberra scenery.
The Daily Mail described the ACT's National Arboretum as ''lush terraced hills and forests overlooking Canberra's Lake Burley Griffin''.
They also said the arboretum's popular Pod Playground was ''distinctive''.
The Daily Mirror wrote about Canberra's ''bright sunshine'' and ''stunning'' views and discussed at length the National Arboretum's history and design, as did the London Evening Standard.
Ms Gallagher was featured widely, appearing in articles and photos in the Mirror, the Daily Mail, Hello! magazine, the Evening Standard and the Telegraph.
She was quoted in the Mail discussing the royal couple's interest in the arboretum's Pod Playground.
''I think they picked out the tactile baby area because, obviously, as parents of a baby, they are interested in playgrounds - you become a bit of an expert I think when you become a parent,'' she said.
But despite the continual fascination with the Duchess of Cambridge's apparel, no British news outlet mentioned Ms Gallagher's outfit.
Later in the day, there was praise for Prime Minister Tony Abbott's speech at the Parliament House reception, particularly his references to Princess Diana, William's mother.
Hello! said the Prime Minister had given the royal couple a warm reception and the Mail quoted his speech to the young duke and duchess.
All papers and news websites carried Prince William's effusive praise for Australia, with many quoting his description of Australia as a magnet for those wanted a better life.
He also praised the country's sporting success and natural beauty, saying Australia was admired around the world.
On a lighter note, the Mail also spoke to Westpac chief executive Gail Kelly, who revealed she had been invited to tea at Kensington Palace by William and Kate.
Unfortunately, Hello! magazine mistakenly referred to the governor-general as Dame Quentin Bryce twice on their website, despite featuring a picture of the new office-holder Sir Peter Cosgrove.
Dame Quentin left the position almost a month ago after her term expired.
