Having a baby is the most important event in any woman's life.

Many new mums like to mark the occasion with a special piece of jewellery - and it appears the Duchess of Cambridge is no exception.

Kate, 32, who gave birth to Prince George in July, has been spotted wearing several new pieces of bling recently that may be linked to little George's arrival.

When she visited Northolt High School earlier this month, royal fans got excited about the appearance of a third ring on Kate's wedding finger.

The classic band is believed to be an eternity ring often given by fathers to mothers on the birth of their child.

At the same visit she was also wearing a £3,800 Ballon Bleu Cartier wrist watch.

The stunning silver watch is described by Cartier as "Floating like a balloon and as blue as the sapphire safely nestled in its side, the Ballon Bleu watch by Cartier adds a dash of elegance to male and female wrists alike".

It is thought to have been a present for either Christmas or her birthday in January - and is tipped to be a regular feature on her arm

Kate has also been seen out and about with a new £89 necklace from online boutique Merci Maman believed to be a present from sister Pippa after George was born.

The simple gold disk is engraved with Prince George's full name - George Alexander Louis alongside a heart-shaped charm inscribed with the letter W for her husband.

So while she may have the pick of the crown jewels for official occasions, it seems Kate is still growing her personal collection of jewels.

And unlike the Queen's jewellery, she'll never have to give these back.
