Was it ever in doubt?

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge has received high praise from 50s fashion icon Twiggy who has praised the royal's sense of style as well as admitting she's a huge fan of the Duchess personally.

While the former model might have been an icon for the wild 1960s, she recently admitted that she's more traditional than people might have thought and is a huge fan of the royal family, Kate in particular.

''I think [Catherine is] wonderful and I'm a great royalist. I think they're wonderful for the country and I think she's gorgeous - [her and William] seem very happy," she told Fashionista.com.

''I follow what she wears in the magazines just like everyone else, and she dresses beautifully. She's stylish and classy, and she always comes across as a really nice person - which I think is why she's captured everyone's heart. And now they've got a baby! Everyone loves a baby.''

We certainly do Twiggy!

Ever since Kate joined the royal family she's been praised for her spot on royal style and for mixing high street with high end designers. She even managed to triumph while dressing her bump during pregnancy, something that's not always easy to achieve.

Twiggy's not the first person to praise Kate's royal style. Dontatella Versace recently also claimed the Duchess was a fashion icon, who has a huge influence on fashion buyers.

"I call it the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge effect," she recently told The Sunday Times on the couples' influence on couture fashion.

Referring directly to Kate she added: "She can wear anything because she has a fantastic body."
