Harry and Cressida are said to have broken up recently as the couple were spotted hand in hand at Kensington Palace as recently as last week. The MailOnline have claimed a royal source has confirmed to them that it was an "amicable" split and that the pair remain friends.

Blaming Cressida's need for a career and a break from the spotlight, the source claimed the door was still open for a reunion. But that's pretty different to a report by Showbiz Spy which claim the break up was down to Cressy's reservations over marriage as well as a problem with Kate.

They reported: "Harry wants to settle down and get married like his brother, Prince William.

"But Cressie is still young and had huge reservations about marrying into the royal family."

"They had a chat over the weekend and decided it's best they cool things off," the so-called insider went on.

"Harry's hoping she'll change her mind, but for now the romance is very much off."

Apparently Kate had a hand in the break up as well with the insider going on: "Kate and Cressie just didn't get along.

"Kate initially thought Cressie and Harry were the real deal and their relationship would end in marriage. But in the end, she just couldn't warm to her."

They claimed: "She tried to give Cressie guidance. If anyone knows about how to be an outside in the Royal Family, it's Kate. But Cressie didn't seem interested.

"William had words with Harry, and told him friction between between the women could cause a major problem in the long term."
